STARFLEET (SFI) encourages its individuals and chapters to participate in various charitable activities.  One of these such actives that many chapters across the United States is Toys for Tots, which usually is run by various local fire departments across the nations who set up and/or stage toy drop off points through out the area including local malls, fire departments, and law enforcement stations.  Since the USS Valkyrie is a correspondence chapter I am hopeful the USS Valkyrie’s crew will submit posts for their various favorite charities.  My hope is that we can set up blogs here with direct links to their respective “donate” sites’ pages that will allow people easy access to a variety of helpful organizations that help build and support communities that need financial assistance to continue in their activities.

One of my favorite local organizations that like to contribute to is Helping Hands for thee Blind which is located in Los Angeles; Panorama City and Chatsworth.  If you wish to donate. please do so at http://www.helpinghands4theblind.org/Computer.html They have thrift stores and accept donations; they also will pick up cloths and other helpful items.  They have picked up items while I was living in the Santa Monica Canyon!
